The Bridgewater-Raritan High School girls’ tennis season came to an end with a record of 3–9.

The team advanced to the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) tournament, where Bridgewater-Raritan first faced Watchung Hills Regional High School in the quarterfinal round and earned an impressive 4–1 victory.

After qualifying for the semifinal round, the team put up a tremendous fight but ultimately fell 4–1 to J.P. Stevens High School in Edison.

Sophomore team captain Skye Cabutu excelled throughout the season, defeating her J.P. Stevens opponent with set scores of 7–5 and 6–1 to secure the match win. Since earning a varsity position as a freshman, Cabutu has consistently demonstrated outstanding determination and commitment, becoming a key contributor to the girls’ tennis team.

Junior team captain Vivian Chao also performed exceptionally well throughout the fall season. In the second singles match during the quarterfinals, Chao defeated her Watchung Hills opponent with impressive set scores of 6–2 and 6–1. As she delivered strong performances in many matches this season, Chao has proven to be an excellent co-captain, demonstrating outstanding on-court skills and leadership.

Cabutu expressed that she is, “so proud of how the season went and how much we accomplished and improved throughout the season!” With strong leaders and great performances, the girls varsity team had a successful season!
