The Prowler was given a special feature on Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s news broadcast (BRTV) on Friday, October 11.
This introductory spotlight informed students about what The Prowler is about and how they can join.
Regularly throughout the year, BRTV broadcasts segments of BRHS News where different clubs provide an update on their events and plans for the school year. From the ski club to Forensics, BRTV makes sure to feature and promote as many clubs as possible.
BRTV started off its club spotlights this year with The Prowler, the student-led newspaper of the high school. One of the BRTV crew members, Sarang Nair, was present at the first meeting for The Prowler on September 18. Nair conducted interviews with: Mr. Bruce Moran, the newspaper’s editorial advisor; Mr. Victor Smoke, the business advisor for the club; and the Co-Editors-in-Chief: Isabel Lu and Paritosh Bhole, senior and junior, respectively.
Nair asked the newspaper’s advisors and Editors-in-Chief about what the club entailed and how members are involved with the digital publication. Lu and Bhole explained that articles are written on a variety of school-related topics and are then posted to The Prowler’s website, www.brhsprowler.org.
Interviews with Mr. Moran, who is the school district’s Communications Specialist, and Mr. Smoke, who is a high school Instructional Assistant, gave BRTV viewers insight into the types of events our newspaper covers and how interested students can join. The Prowler’s Google Classroom code is “iiznqux” with the next all-staff meeting being held on October 17 during Unit Lunch.
