The Central Jersey Math League (CJML) officially commenced its 2025–2026 series at Metuchen High School, marking the first of eight competitions throughout the season.
The CJML is a local math competition league for students in Central Jersey, with approximately 20 member high schools holding monthly meetings across various schools.
The test consists of ten questions ascending in difficulty, ranging from arithmetic to algebra, geometry and number theory. Students are tasked with completing these questions in one hour, aiming to place among the top participants. Out of the maximum of ten competitors from each school, the top three scores are selected to represent the school. Throughout the competition, the scores from each meeting are summed to determine the winner.
In the 2024-2025 season, Bridgewater-Raritan ranked first in cumulative results, scoring higher than rival schools Montgomery High School (MHS) and Edison Academy Magnet School.
To open up the 2025-2026 season, Bridgewater-Raritan earned 25 points when accumulating the top three scorers, emerging in second place, one point behind Montgomery. Sophomore Jay Fang earned a perfect score on the exam, earning accolades for his achievement.
After completing the test, all competitors enjoyed complimentary pizza and beverages while waiting for the results.
The Bridgewater-Raritan High School Math League Team hopes to excel in future CJML meets, building on a successful start.
