As the 2025-2026 school year kicked off, it can be jarring for freshmen to adjust to the new environment and culture of Bridgewater-Raritan High School.
Luckily, the Bridgewater-Raritan (BR) Ambassadors club introduces a team of students who are dedicated to making this transition smoother.
Run by Jessica Kaiser, BR Ambassadors was created in the 2023-2024 school year and has rapidly grown into a highly-regarded club. The BR Ambassadors have many responsibilities, but currently, the main one is to create a positive environment for the Class of 2029. They aim to be role models as upperclassmen for the freshmen, so they feel confident during their high school years.
Maya Goodrich, a senior officer, offers an inside view of their responsibilities.
“BR Ambassadors aims to help freshmen adjust to high school by teaching them about skills like avoiding procrastination, dealing with stress, relationships and more. We teach freshmen health classes, lead lessons and create fun activities for the lessons and time there,” she said.
Last week, the organization hosted a leadership meeting that connected council members with the Ignite2Unite organization. Senior Reet Mansukhani explained that this was her favorite memory of the club so far.
“A great memory and opportunity for BR Ambassadors this year was our Ignite2Unite training. We engaged in fun activities, made new friends and learned ways to make BRHS a better learning and social environment. BR Ambassadors is about coming together and creating a welcoming space for freshmen, and as student leaders, this training brought us all together and gave us strategies to help them,” she commented.
When asked about the future of the club, Mansukhani responded with confidence.
“BR Ambassadors will definitely grow this school year. Not many schools have a program dedicated to mentoring freshmen, and BRHS is beyond lucky to have this. Once more and more students become aware of this selective club, enrollment will definitely increase,” she said.
Students are encouraged to join this club if they are interested in being a leader at Bridgewater-Raritan High School.
To join BR Ambassadors, an upperclassman must fill out a form at the end of the school year to be considered and attend trainings throughout the school year.
