As The Prowler enters the school year’s final marking period, the team welcomed three new Associate Editor-in-Chiefs.
Associate Editor-in-Chiefs are students who will take on the role of Editor-in-Chief next school year, 2025-2026, and will be trained for the rest of this year by the current Editor-in-Chiefs, current senior Isabel Lu and current junior Paritosh Bhole.
The first two Associate Editor-in-Chiefs will be Ananaya Gupta and Agastya Shahane, who is each a junior this year, alongside Sri Kakarla, who currently is a sophomore.
Gupta and Shahane will remain Associate Editor-in-Chiefs for the remainder of the year and be promoted to Co-Editor-in-Chiefs alongside Bhole, and Kakarla will take on a new position added this school year–Jnior Editor-in-Chief.
The Junior Editor-in-Chief is a student promoted in their sophomore year to take on the role during their junior year to continue as an Associate Editor-in-Chief their junior year under the current senior Editor-in-Chiefs. The club hopes that this will promote longevity and ensure that well-experienced leadership is replenishing the graduating seniors every year.
Gupta is currently one of the editors for the Community Corner section and will continue with her responsibilities for the remainder of the year and a new editor will replace her next year when The Prowler opens their general applications for all editors near the end of the school year. Shahane is one of the Arts section editors, alongside Nandini Kuppachi. Kuppachi will be promoted to Managing Editor of the Arts section next year to oversee the other arts editors.
Gupta shared her thoughts on her new role.
“I am so excited for this opportunity to help future writers and our club grow!” she said.
Shahane provided his comments in his new position.
“I’m so excited to start the next year as editor-in-chief because I get to make so much more of an impact and truly help the Prowler grow. Thank you to the advisors (Bruce Moran and Victor Smoke) and current Editors-in-Chiefs for trusting me to take on this role next year. I am truly grateful for this opportunity,” he said.
Kakarla was thrilled with her new task.
“I am grateful for my new role as Junior Associate Editor and am excited for the opportunities that lie ahead!” she revealed..
The club is excited to get to work with the new officers and looks ahead to their flagship project of the year, which is the published print edition of The Prowler that will highlight the Class of 2025 and is distributed at graduation time.
