Profe Christine Peliotis, a Spanish teacher at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, helped volunteer at the tournament. She shared about her experience.
“This was my first time volunteering for a Forensics Tournament and I was genuinely astonished by the effort and dedication of the students, coaches, judges, parents and advisors. I had never seen an event like this in action. Walking around and seeing all the students dressed up, practicing together, giving each other feedback, and helping each other improve was really heartwarming. Overall, the day was an awesome opportunity for me to get a better understanding of what my students are up to when they say they have a Forensics tournament. It’s clear that this club is a labor of love and I applaud Mr. Fischer and Ms. Pierce for offering their time and energy to allow our BR students to continue to thrive in Forensics!” she said.
This tournament was an important milestone in the competitive season for the Bridgewatwer-Raritan Speech and Debate team as they continue to develop their skills and prepare for upcoming regional and national competitions. The next tournament will take place this upcoming weekend at the Pennsbury Falcon Tournament in Pennsylvania, starting January 31.
