As their high school years come to an end for the Bridgewater Raritan High School Class of 2025, students and teachers are strengthening relationships before their final departure.
Senior Matthew Di Eduardo in particular is going the extra mile to do so.
Like most seniors at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, Di Eduardo thrives academically and athletically, as a wrestling team member. Despite balancing a busy schedule, he decided to create a YouTube channel in August 2024. Throughout the year, he filmed video diaries with classmates, capturing the fun moments in their last year together.
Di Eduardo opened the channel explaining how he wants “…want us [the seniors] to come together. I want us to be a family” before the class of 2025 parts ways post-high school.
When he first began uploading videos, Di Eduardo stated that he did not necessarily know what to expect as the outcome. However, he remained hopeful that by showing exciting experiences with friends and classmates, his classmates could have lasting memories from senior year.
His content includes high school football games, homecoming and simple hangouts. All of his videos are created as authentically as possible to record real experiences. “People and students in Bridgewater get to watch and see what life is really like around town and at school… and it’s great!” he said.
His most popular video, “Summer Senior Year Episode 1,” currently has over 1,300 views. The video consists of him explaining his channel and getting together with friends before the school year began. The footage he posted has little cuts showing conversations straight through and presents his comedic tendencies.
For the rest of the school year, Di Eduardo plans on continuing his channel which has already gained more than 280 subscribers and thousands of views. Di Eduardo and other students around campus have even gotten teachers on board, as they showed his videos in class, raising spirits.
After graduating from high school, Di Eduardo not only wants the Class of 2025 to remember their exciting memories and moving experiences together, but he also wants the underclassmen to follow in his footsteps.
He comments to underclassmen inspired by his content: “Don’t let anything get in your way, don’t let anyone tell you anything. If you really want something, go after it,” he said.
To watch his videos and hold on to senior year recollections, his YouTube is under the handle: Matt Di Eduardo.
