The Bridgewater Raritan High School’s Model United Nations Club (BRMUN) will be holding meetings in the 800 building every Friday after school.
Model UN aims to debate global issues and current affairs, but it is so much more than just another public speaking event.
The club aspires for its members to be proficient in debating, speaking, negotiations and diplomacy. Members get to attend some of the best conferences in the world and meet delegates from all over the planet.
This year, BRMUN will be sending delegates to Georgetown University’s National American Invitational MUN in Washington D.C. and the National High School MUN in New York City. These two international conferences are widely considered to be the most prestigious in the world.
The club’s board members have planned more local conferences for the upcoming year as well. These include the tri-state area’s highly acclaimed Academy Model UN in Bergen County Academies, Franklin High School MUN and many others within the planned seven conferences.
In January, the club plans to host their annual home conference, BRMUNC, for the seventh year. The conference draws in delegates from all over New Jersey for a weekend conference where members will get the opportunity to chair or help organize the event.
Model UN is a club for everyone, regardless of prior experience and academic interests. The skills learned in the club along with the prestige Model UN carries as a club are highly beneficial for both college and beyond.
The club’s Google Classroom Code is jevavp3 and members can join the club Discord to directly talk to officers and ask questions.
