The Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s Robotics Team 303 was the host of its annual Recruitment Fair, an event aimed at introducing underclassmen students to the world of FIRST robotics and encouraging them to join the team.
The fair, held on Friday, September 20, in the large cafeteria of Bridgewater-Raritan High School (BRHS), drew a large attendance of students eager to learn more about the opportunities the team offers.
The event showcased the various divisions, or subteams, of the BRHS robotics team, also known as the T.E.S.T. Team 303. Team members provided live demonstrations of previous robots and briefly showcased mechanical parts or other projects related to their respective subteams. The team consists of two halves, each split up into four subteams. The first half was robot fabrication, which included programming, CAD, mechanical, and electrical subteams. The other is team development, which consists of member relations, outreach, public relations, and business.
The fair featured interactive booths where students could try their hand at basic programming and robot controls. These hands-on activities gave potential recruits an idea of what being part of Team 303 is like.
Junior electrical supervisor Arya Vaidya expressed his thoughts about the fair and the future of the team.
“Team 303 is very confident for the future outlook of the team as many students, freshman to juniors, expressed real interest in joining and sticking with the team,” he said.
The recruitment fair comes at an important time for the team as they prepare for the upcoming competition season. Team 303 is signed up for the 2025 FRC robotics season; new members will have the chance to contribute to future projects while learning from experienced mentors and teammates.
Team 303 begins to prepare for the upcoming 2025 build season, which will kick off in January, with new member training already underway.
More information on Robotics Team 303 can be found at the team’s new member training meetings, which began on September 24. All students are welcome to join using the potential member Google Classroom code: “qwxzyms”.
