As a senior, I am excited to close my final year with The Prowler and share this exciting year with you all.
My name is Isabel Lu and I am a Co-Editor-in-Chief for The Prowler, alongside junior Paritosh Bhole.
I am humbled to be your co-EIC and looking forward to seeing your growth as a writer, community member, and club member this year.
As a brief overview, The Prowler is an online newspaper for Bridgewater-Raritan High School that covers all campus events that provides a plethora of opportunities to you as a writer. You have the chance to be a published author on our website as our articles: go out in weekly campus-wide e-blasts; are posted on the high school website; can be featured on our Instagram (@thebrhsprowler) and the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District’s social media; and can possibly be a part of the local community newspaper, The Breeze.
We are looking to build up our Opinion-Editorial section this year, and invite those who enjoy writing more about their experiences and their classmates’ sentiments to consider writing for this section.
Additionally, we will be working closely with the new Sports Journalism class here at the high school to increase our volume of sports articles. If you are interested in this section we highly encourage you to sign up for an article and reach out to the sports section editor: Ruhaan Keote.
Additionally, we are currently working on our charter for the international journalism honor society “Quill and Scroll”. After obtaining our charter, we invite everyone–of all grades–to apply to be a member and hopefully be inducted into the society this year. Additional information is to come regarding this.
Looking further into the future, we will be continuing our tradition of the end-of-year issue with the graduation of the class of 2025. We will begin preparation after winter break and you can help contribute to a prized memento for graduates and their families.
Being in the club since my freshman year, I am in awe of the amazing growth we have seen and commend those who have stayed with us all these years. I recommend all those who are interested in writing and being involved in campus life to join the club. The Prowler has a great community and we can help you connect with students from all grades to build lasting relationships.
Our Google Classroom code is “iiznqux” and we meet bi-weekly on Wednesdays in Room 515 during unit lunch.
Join us and help spread the news!
