The Bridgewater-Raritan High School Marching Band made a trip to Eisenhower Intermediate School on Friday, October 20, to perform and entice the younger generations to join the marching band.
Under the direction of Nicholas Mossa, the marching band set up in Eisenhower’s gym and performed a standstill show of the 2023 show titled The Journey of a Hero, similar to the performance done at the Monroe Middle School Competition the previous week.
Members of the marching band commented on the reaction from students.
“The energy we were getting from the kids at Eisenhower was great, and I’m glad that we’ve made connections to the kids who are the future of our band program. Getting them excited about what is ahead of them is the first step towards growing the band program in the future,” Jasmine Saini, senior and drum major of the marching band, said.
In between the performances, senior section leaders and previous Eisenhower students were able to showcase their sections and explain to the students that they were once in their shoes, foreshadowing the opportunities headed their way.
The performance not only allowed the marching band to have another indoor and standstill performance but also showed the students at Eisenhower what the band is all about.
