They rumbled to a championship.
The Bridgewater-Raritan High School Robotics Team, known as Team 303, showcased their skills and talents when they captured the championship at the Raritan Valley Robot Rumble that was contested Saturday, September 30 and Sunday October 1.
This annual event, which is part of the Raritan Valley Science and Technology Showcase, was competed at the Bridgewater Commons Mall.
Team 303 members first relied on their skills to place in the fifth position among the 21 participating teams. As a result, Bridgewater-Raritan earned the privilege to choose two other robots to join forces for the playoffs.
Team 303 selected West-Windsor Plainsboro’s “The MidKnight Inventors 1923” and Mount Olive Robotics JV’s “MORT Beta 193.”
Their exceptional performance and quick victories guided Bridgewater-Raritan to the championship round, where Team 303 ultimately won with a score of 2-1.
The skilled drive-team on Day 1 consisted of Ved Sonar as the driver, Aritra Banerjee as the technician, John Martinez as the operator, Sahel Abraham as the coach, and Arjun Agarwala as the human player. On the final day of the competition, the day of the playoffs, the drive-team included Pranav Karra (driver), Arya Vaidya (technician), Simran Agarwala (operator), Ayush Singhal (coach), and John Martinez (human player). Prior to the competition, Team 303 addressed and resolved any issues with their robot, ensuring it was in optimal condition for the challenges ahead. Their dedication paid off as their robot’s performance was outstanding, with a record of 5-3-0 at the end of Qualification Matches on Day 1.
Additionally, Bridgewater-Raritan was the host to a booth at the “Investigation Alley”, a walkway where children can come and learn about various aspects related to STEAM and Robotics. 303’s booth specifically used Jello to make an Earthquake Simulator and educate about basic engineering principles.
Team 303 is now setting their sights on the upcoming Brunswick Eruption, another Off-Season FRC Competition, which will be held on Saturday, November 11, at North Brunswick High School.
