This year’s Bridgewater-Raritan High School Theatre Arts program’s production is off to a strong start.
The fall play, which is scheduled for December 4-6 in the Bridgewater-Raritan High School auditorium, will be The Outsiders, a story centered around the experiences of young people in a society where conflict and stereotypes are drawn between the rich and poor.
Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s Theatre Arts program has recently begun rehearsals, ensuring the show will be an exciting experience for audiences. With the talent and dedication of involved members, students can look forward to an incredible play with encapsulating performances.
Senior Evan Andrews, playing the role of Bob in the show, shared his thoughts regarding the upcoming play.
“I’m so excited to be able to work with a fight coordinator this year and practice stage combat, because there are fights in the show!”
He further expressed his sentiment that lovers of action and thrill would certainly be in for a treat.
Heather Diaforli-Day, who is the Director of the Theatre Arts program, shared her thoughts and aspirations for the production.
“I am most excited about telling this story because it is one that many are familiar with. I hope that we can remind people about the beauty in the themes of S.E. Hinton’s book.”
Not only is she enthusiastic about this performance and its inspiring messages, but she also looks forward to “Watching each student grow in their roles, both onstage and off.”
Although only a few rehearsals have been conducted thus far, Mrs. Diaforli-Day believes that the production is in a great position.
Practices have been primarily held in the choir room since the auditorium is under construction; however, the members are looking forward to practicing in the newly renovated auditorium soon.
Performances on the three days will start at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Don’t forget to buy your tickets and spread the word about the show.
