The Bridgewater-Raritan High School Indoor Percussion performed its show “The Sound Gallery” on Saturday, March 15 at North Penn High School in Lansdale, Pa.
Bridgewater-Raritan’s show consisted of the songs “Spring” by Vivaldi, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston and “Hot To Go” by Chappell Roan.
During this warm and mildly windy day, the students felt various emotions, both before and after the performance, including feeling nervous but confident that they would do well.
Despite the early call time at 7:30 a.m., the performers pushed through to rehearse to the best of their abilities and put on the best show they could that evening.
The Bridgewater-Raritan Indoor Percussion placed seventh out of all schools competing with a score of 77.900. West Shore School District won first place in this competition, scoring 87.650.
The students ended their long day with a bus ride back, talking amongst themselves. Some chose to catch up on sleep on the way home.
Freshman Aiden Del Gaudio, a Vibe 1 player, shared his thoughts on the competition.
“I thought the competition was amazing, and the team did well considering the early call time and our nerves before the show. It was great to spend time with the team members after our performance to watch other groups perform and see how they did. Overall, I enjoyed my time there!” he said.
The Indoor Percussion looks forward to continuing to perform their “The Sound Gallery” show at future competitions.
