A memorable postseason run for the Bridgewater-Raritan High School girls’ soccer team came to an end on Thursday, November 2, at Gary Kehler Stadium in Westfield.
Top-seeded Westfield High School posted a 4-0 victory to eliminate upset-minded and 12th-seeded Bridgewater-Raritan in the semifinal round of the NJSIAA North 2 Group 4 Girls Soccer Tournament.
The Panthers edged fifth-seeded Watchung Hills Regional High School, 1-0, on Thursday, October 26 on the road before closing out the month with a 2-1 victory at fourth-seeded seeded Elizabeth High School.
As a result, Bridgewater-Raritan advanced to the sectional semifinals as the No. 12 seed in its sectional bracket for the second straight season, but two goals in each half for the Blue Devils was the difference in Westfield.
Bridgewater-Raritan concluded its 2023 campaign with a record of 6-11-2.
Graduating this June from the Bridgewater-Raritan High School Class of 2024 are senior players Aubrey Bartolotto, Sara Bengali, Jamie Binenstock, Julie Ferrante, Esther Guan, Madison Hou, Skylar Leung, Sophia Maslo, Sophia Mendoza, and Adriana Minerva.
