After a few years of inactivity, the Bridgewater-Raritan High School Republican Club is back and ready to spark meaningful dialogue.
This year, the club’s main mission is to educate students about the Republican Party, the electoral college, and the broader political system—all while promoting respectful discussion and public speaking skills.
The club’s leaders emphasize that the Republican Club isn’t just for those who already identify as Republicans.
“We’re trying to get people from all parties together to communicate without fighting,” said Cooper Rago, a student leader. “It’s about learning from each other, finding common ground, and having civil conversations.”
Looking ahead, the club hopes to expand into a Turning Point USA chapter, which would allow members to explore more first-hand opportunities for civic engagement and activism.
Above all, the club’s goal is to foster understanding and encourage students to engage thoughtfully and respectfully with differing opinions about politics — an important skill both in and out of school.
